Alyssa Campanella, Miss California USA 2011, has just been crowned Miss USA 2011 at the national finale held in Las Vegas. Alyssa Campanella will represent the United States in Miss Universe in Brazil in September. The first runner-up was Ashley Durham, Miss Tennessee USA 2011, the second runner-up was Madeline Mitchell, Miss Alabama USA 2011 and the third runner-up was Ana Rodriguez, Miss Texas USA 2011.

The 51 contestants taking part in the “Miss USA 2011″ pageant gathered in Las Vegas this weekend to kickstart the activities that will last for two weeks, concluding with the crowning of a new titleholder on June 19th. On Sunday, the beauties took part in a photoshoot at the Palms Place pool in the Palms hotel. This Monday, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino will roll out the red carpet for 51 of the world’s most beautiful women when the resort hosts the official Las Vegas welcome event for the 2011 MISS USA Pageant. The ceremony, hosted by Jeff Timmons, star of 98 Degrees and current resident guest star of Chippendales at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, and the reigning Miss USA, Rima Fakih, will kick-off two weeks of action-packed activities for the contestants who will reside in Las Vegas until the pageant is telecast live from Planet Hollywood on Sunday, June 19 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. For pageant fans who have followed Miss USA/Universe for decades, it is worth nothing that after more than 40 years, the style of the traditional sashes has been replaced.
