I'm nervous about my TV debut: Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt is excited about his TV debut with reality show Bigg Boss 5, but admits he is nervous too!

"I'm pretty nervous doing it. I've never done it, I don't know what it will be but I know one thing that it will be very different," Sanjay, who turned 52, told IANS.

The actor, who is said to be teaming up with Salman Khan for the controversial show, reveals Salman won't be with him throughout the season. Nevertheless, he promises to try to make it fun.

"Salman will introduce me in the show and will do two episodes with me and then I'll be on my own. Salman asked me to do it and I thought I should do it. It's something new for me. It's a good platform. I'm going to have fun. That is the way I am. I will not make it serious," he added.

Bigg Boss
is a reality show where celebrity contestants stay in a single house for about three months, with no connection to the outside world. They are overseen by a mysterious person known as Bigg Boss, whose only presence in the house is through his voice.

Spotted: SRK at Sanjay Dutt's private bash

Spotted: SRK at Sanjay Dutt`s private bashShah Rukh Khan along with wife Gauri besides Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jesia and Shabina Khan were at Sanjay Dutt's home on Sunday night for a private bash.

As reported 'Temporary truce' (Hitlist, July 25), Sanju and wife Maanayata hosted a party for SRK and his pals apparently in retaliation for what Salman Khan did at Maanayata's birthday bash last week! This is probably the first time SRK was at Dutt's home.

Looks like Sanju is standing by manager Dharam Oberoi, even though he was the bone of contention for Salman. Also notice that Gauri drove the car after the party. Did SRK not want to indulge in drunk driving?

Is Sanjay upset with Salman?

Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt invited Shah Rukh Khan to his home! Looks like Sanju and Sallu's patch-up is just a facade.

It seems there's much more to the verbal duel and ceasefire that happened between B-Town's 'good friends' Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan at Maanayata Dutt's birthday bash on Thursday.

Apparently, Sanju is still extremely upset with Sallu. And to show the Dabaang star that he hasn't forgiven him, Dutt hosted a get-together for Shah Rukh Khan at his house on Sunday night.

"Hrithik Roshan and Arjun Rampal were also invited for it," divulges a close friend of Dutt.

"And Salman had no clue about it." A source, who was present when the Thursday incident happened, says, "Salman wasn't invited for the party in the first place. In fact, Sanju was talking to their common friend, Prashant, to invite him. But when Prashant told him that he was with Salman who was asking why he wasn't invited, Sanju asked Sallu to come over, too."

Apparently, Salman was quite inebriated when he sauntered in with Zarine Khan. Apart from expressing his disappointment at Sanjay's refusal to play his father in Bodyguard, Salman, it is learnt, was also curt to Maanyata.

"Sallu told her that he won't address her as bhabhi, but by her name," says the source, adding that Sanju got angry with the way Salman was talking to his wife.

Further, Salman was also rude to Kumar Gaurav. Our source recalls, "Salman told Kumar Gaurav that he had launched new girls into stardom. So he could even give a hit debut to his daughter Saachi. Before things got real ugly, Prashant and Rohit Jugraj escorted him out."

Even after the party ended, Sanjay was so angry that he wanted to opt out of Bigg Boss which they are co-hosting. Later, on Friday, when Salman heard about it, he called Sanjay to apologise.

"Even though the deal was signed, it took a lot for Sanjay to not walk out of the show. Moreover it was Salman who had suggested that he and Sanju host the show together," informs our source.

According to a unit member from the promo shoot at Film City, the atmosphere was tense till afternoon. "However, when Sanju gave Salman a hug, everyone in the unit heaved a sigh of relief."

Meanwhile efforts are on to make everything look hunky-dory between the two stars, but that is not the case it seems. "Sanju is keeping his calm only for the sake of the shows" says the source.

Harbhajan’s girl to shake a leg with Sanjay Dutt

In a tale about the hardships faced by farmers, suicides and the underworld, director Anand Kumar and producer Vinod Bachchan decided that their upcoming film, Zilla Ghaziabad needed a more Bollywood touch - a hot, item number.

And so, the filmmakers have brought Harbhajan Singh’s girlfriend, Geeta Basra to gyrate to the number alongside the film’s star Sanjay Dutt.

Sources have revealed that the item number in the film, which required the lead actress Minissha Lamba to work on enhancing her lower body assets (Mumbai Mirror, July 5, 2011), is sure to stem up the silver-screen.

A source told us that fashion designer, Archana Kocchan, has been brought in to style the costumes for the number.

The source added, “A set has been specially designed for the item number, which will be shot in Mumbai next week.”

Basra has previously gyrated in the music video for the Sukshinder Shinda and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan song, Ghum Sum Ghum Sum for Shinda’s upcoming album, Collaborations 2.

I can hit and kiss: Sanjay Dutt

sanjay dutt.jpg
Actor Sanjay Dutt is a happy man. After all, he has become a father to two lovely twins, and his film career seems to be doing well, too!

Currently shooting for 'Rascals', and with the current success of 'Double Dhamaal', actor Sanjay Dutt will be seen in a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra One', not to forget to mention the remake of 'Agneepath' with Karan Johar at the helm.

Excited about getting back to action, Sanjay Dutt is heard to have said: I love action films and roles. We all set out as action heores who beat up the bad men; it was later that we realised that we could not only hit, but we could romance as well. So we did a few romantic movies. Then we realised that the audience found us funny! And that we could make them laugh; then comedies came into the scene. Right now, I'm enjoying the best of all three worlds with a little bit of this, that and the other. So it's good."

Unwilling to talk much about his twins, all that Dutt says is that they make him happy!

Munnabhai Chale Amerika: Work in Progress

Sanjay Dutt as Munnabhai
Munnabhai Chale Amerika got shelved when fans of the adorable goon eagerly awaited his third adventure.

This happened because thematically similar Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name Is Khan released around the same time.

However, Munnabhai is ready to move on with his adventures now that Rajkumar Hirani has confirmed that he is working on the script for the third film in the series.

Hirani recently returned from the US, not from a holiday, but with an entirely new script for the third part in the Munnabhai series.

It was, in fact, reported that Hirani had quit the idea of making the third part and hence was working on another script.

This, however, does not hold true anymore. "Hirani has been working on the Munnabhai script with his writer Abhijat Joshi in the US and they will soon declare the film.

They are planning to go ahead with the film in February next year with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi while the leading ladies are still to be decided," says a source.

Hirani confirmed the news over a text message, "I am writing it and will direct it as and when the script is ready."

While Hirani was away, rumours that producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra may hand over the directorial reigns of the film to good friend and director of Do Dooni Chaar Habib Faisal were doing the rounds back home.

"Habib and Vidhu Chopra have met a few times recently and spoken over the film and there is a steady progress," said a industry insider. Interestingly, Faisal declined to comment saying, "At this stage I have nothing to say about your query."

While his answer yet again could start a series of speculations, what's confirmed is that Munnabhai is definitely making a comeback. Watch this space to know who gets to hold the directorial rein.
