Got a '18 till I die' attitude: Sulagna Panigrahi

Sulagna Panigrahi who turned heads with daily soaps like Ambar Dhara, Do Saheliya and Bidaai, is flying high these days after her big screen debut in Murder 2.

Talking about her character she says with a laugh, "I play a 16 year old girl in the film. In real life, I have a '18 till I die' attitude as well, so it wasn't difficult to go down a few years. The most important thing about my role is that my character is a fighter just like what I am in real life."

Sulagna feels her 'karma' and luck have got her whatever she has in life today. "I believe that if I do good, I will get good returns. There's no doubt that luck plays role in the film industry too," says the 23 year old.
It is generally believed that television actors are not easily accepted in films. "I feel the audience accepts an actor depending on his/her performance. The medium doesn't matter. Actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Vidya Balan, Rajeev Khandelwal, Prachi Desai started their careers with television and today they are big on the silver screen too. In Hollywood, actors do television, films and theatre at one time, then why can't we?" she asks.

Already planning her future, Sulagna says, "I don't crave for lead roles. I want roles of substance. Currently I am reading scripts - it is important what I choose next. People have a lot of expectations from me and I don't want to let them down."

As she got her first share of fame on small screen, would she take up reality shows? Sulagna insists she isn't interested in them. "Nowadays most reality shows have become a little crass. I don't abuse in real life so I don't think I'll be able to give enough masala. Neither do I want to be part of a show like Bigg Boss where the likes of Maria Susairaj are offered ` five crore. I'd love to anchor a show, as I am talkative in real life," she says.

Sulagna loves her share of fun too. "I have fired an AK 47 and driven a tank. I got an opportunity to do all this as I come from an army background. It was super fun to do all this. I am fun-loving in real life too!"

Vidya is Smokin’ hot

The actress pushes her limits and takes to tobacco to essay her character in Dirty Picture

Vidya Balan, the lead actress of the film, Dirty Picture, had to come out of her comfort zone to shoot for a smoking sequence in the movie, recently.

The actress while shooting for the film in Hyderabad had to enact a scene in which she had to actually smoke. Since Vidya had never smoked before, she began to feel uneasy after her fourth cigarette and started coughing. This halted the shoot of the film for a few minutes.

Once the effects of nicotine subsided, Vidya managed to resume shooting. Milan Luthria, the director of the film, gave a green signal to the shot after multiple retakes; however, by then, Vidya had already smoked 10 cigarettes.

The film Dirty Picture is one of the most awaited films of the year as it is based on the life of southern siren Silk Smitha. It focuses on how an actress who provided entertainment to millions died a lonely and a tragic death.

Vidya Balan, who essays Silk Smitha, is pushing her boundaries to play this role. She is not only experimenting with the costumes which will change her image but is also making additional efforts on the personal front to be able to do justice to the character. The director also wants the scenes in the movie to look realistic which is probably why he insisted on “ the non-smoker” Vidya to smoke cigarettes in reality.

Vidya spends hours in a lotus pond for her Dirty Pictures

Vidya Balan was recently shooting for a song sequence for Dirty Pictures in a lotus pond at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

After every shot, she was asked to step out for a while before going in again for the next shot. Not keen to get in and out of the water every couple of minutes, Vids suggested staying in the pond till the required portions were filmed.

By the time the director had okayed the last take, the heroine had clocked over two hours in the lotus pond.

Thankfully, she didn't catch a cold or suffer any rashes this time!

Babes with curves are the new rage in Bollywood

Babes with curves are the new rage in BollywoodB-Town changes shape as more rounded bodies become talk of town

Kareena Kapoor and her size zero statistic may have been the benchmark of Bollywood a few years ago, but the current crop of girls in tinsel town are not exactly thin.

Even Bebo has shed her reed-thin look for the curves.

Imran Khan had recently declared, "Most women don't know how to flatter their bodies. I am not a great admirer of size-zero figures. I like curves on a woman as it really flatters her body."

While the late American actress Mae West had declared, "The curve is more powerful than the sword!" And the one time sex goddess should know this from her experience and from lots of it.

Here's looking at the curvaceous B-Town girls...

Sonakshi Sinha
She shed some 30 kilos for her Dabangg launchpad at co-star Salman Khan's insistence. But this girl has a tendency to pile on and now just lets her body be.

Kajal Agarwal
She's done South flicks where they prefer voluptuous women. And she hasn't shed it for Singham with which she makes her B-Town debut.

Vidya Balan
Flayed for her weight and her dress sense, Vids improved on both counts and let her histrionics do the talking. But, for Dirty Pictures she's back with the love handles.

Zarine Khan
Ironically, for her launch in Veer she was asked to pile on the kilos as she was to play an Indian princess.

Co-star Sallu had put her on a chocolate and cake diet.

She gymmed vigorously to shed it but seems like it isn't working as Character Dheela saw her with all her curves.

Sameera Reddy
Yet another name in the industry who has had a constant battle with her weight. Though she has been extensively shedding the flab, sexy Sam looks best with her curves.

No sleeveless tops for me please: Vidya Balan

Is the only outfit demand of Vidya Balan for her forthcoming film 'Dirty Picture'.

Vidya Balan is currently shooting in Hyderabad for Milan Luthria's Dirty Picture where she will be enacting yesteryear south siren Silk Smitha.

Considering Smitha's sexy image, Vidya too has been given sexy outfits. What impressed us was in spite of being on fashion police's hitlist ever since she looked disastrous in Heyy Babyy and even Kismat Konnection, the actress has blindly trusted Milan and ace costume director Niharika Khan in the outfit department.

A friend of Vidya's revealed, "Vidya is not a fussy person at all. She completely trusts her director and crew when it comes to anything to do with a film. Her only suggestion was she would avoid sleeveless tops/outfits for Dirty Picture as her arms would look flabby, owing to the slight weight gain for the role."
